Talkin’ Tarn Regetta

A post in our latest news section.

The weather was four seasons in one day for our last regatta of the year, at Talkin’ Tarn, near Carlisle. It was a close call for our girls’ crews and a winning day for our boys with the J18’s claiming the first pots, after a choppy start on the lake. Hard fought heats resulted in a win, in the last race for SLSBC for Phillp, Euan, Sam and Joseph.

Following in their footsteps, it was the turn of our J16 boys, (Ellis, Ben J, Caleb and Ben M) to fight on the finish line, winning their heats and then their final. Two of the same crew, Ellis and Ben M then went on to take the J16’s doubles category, complete with bucket hats! For the cherry on the top, Caleb then won the J16 singles in his first ever race in a single, on a very windy lake, the last race of the day. We were absolutely delighted that a very happy Caleb left the Tarn, with two pots to take in his suitcase, as he returned to the USA the very next day!

Well done to all of our rowers and the very best of luck to Caleb and his family for the future.
