Sixth Form Open Evening: October 2025
See what we offer.
We are delighted to welcome students, friends, carers and families old and new to our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 9th October.
With just 6 months to go before completion of our newly-built facilities, next year’s Sixth Formers can start to picture themselves at the top of the school and enjoying all the amenities, from the dance studio to the climbing wall, as well as visiting our vibrant and modern common room, well-stocked Sixth Form library and coffee shop.
Most importantly, prospective students will be able to talk to subject teachers and current Sixth Formers for all our 28 subjects, both academic and vocational, as well as visit stalls and hear talks from Durham and Oxford University, as well as an important apprenticeship provider, and our mental health and wellbeing support team.
Table -top challenges in all the classrooms, from crime scene investigations to archaeology investigations, introduce new subjects that students can sample for the first time, from Economics and Law to Classics and Criminology. There is a chance to talk with specialist creative careers advisors, Oxbridge experts and pre-med and pre-law staff as well. Whatever your pathway, our bespoke support enables you to fulfil your potential.
Students will get the chance to hear about all extra-curricular and super-curricular opportunities we offer, from Duke of Edinburgh at the highest level, to volunteering in Lourdes, the John Paul II Award.
St Leonard’s pupils are now beginning our exciting programme of options guidance and Transition Events (see below for our upcoming calendar).
For prospective student keen to learn more about our Sixth Form, personal tours can be arranged at other times too, using the contact form here.

It is a pleasure to share with you the outcome of our recent Catholic School Inspection. It is a credit to the entire community – families, pupils, staff and our parishes – to be graded ‘Outstanding across all areas’. You can read the report here and an accompanying letter from Mr Simmons here.
