Year 7

Homepage for Year 7.

Year 7 is an important year for pupils across the country, and at St Leonard’s we endeavour to ensure that pupils who join us every September have as smooth a transition into secondary school as possible.

Pupils will join us on the back of New Intake Day and Summer School, which take place at the end of the previous school year, so will hopefully have had many opportunities to meet their new form tutor and members of their tutor group, as well as the opportunity to meet key members of staff and familiarise themselves with the school grounds.

Most subjects in Year 7 are taught in tutor groups. There are some exceptions, for example Physical Education and Technology, where tutor groups are mixed. Mathematics classes are set mid-way through the year.

Six brilliant candidates have received offers from Oxford or Cambridge this year. Congratulations to them all and we wish them every success as they prepare for their A Levels. Thank you to Miss Bird and all the Sixth Form staff who have given excellent support – as ever – during the application process.
