Parents’ Evenings and Reporting

How we run parents' evenings.

Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

For Year 7 through to Year 11, the vast majority of parents’ evenings are held online via the school’s dedicated SchoolCloud page. Parents need the email address they provided the school when their child first joined plus the name and date of birth of their child, in order to log in and make appointments.

Appointments also take place on the SchoolCloud website and last for five minutes each. A timer is shown during the appointment to show parents and teachers how long is left of each appointment.

Appointments are usually made available to parents from 7pm, seven days before the parents’ evening is due to take place.

On occasion, parents’ evenings are held in person. For example, as part of the transition process for pupils in Year 7, a face-to-face parents’ evening takes place early on in the school year with your child’s form tutor.

Year 7 and Year 11 have two parents’ evenings per year, whilst Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 have one parents’ evening per year.

Key Stage 5

For Year 12 and Year 13, the school offers a hybrid approach to parents’ evenings, giving parents the choice of an online appointment or an in-person appointment. Appointments last for longer than they do with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 parents’ evenings.

Parental Information Evenings

In addition to parents’ evenings, the school also offers parental information evenings for each year group throughout the year. This is a presentation to parents in the school’s main hall where the school curriculum, options, assessment, reporting, revision timetables, exam timetables etc. is discussed and parents have the opportunity to ask questions.
