Transition Programme

Our Transition Programme.

Our aim is to ensure the move from primary to secondary school is as seamless as possible.  Choosing the right secondary school is a very important decision and as soon as a child makes this decision they become a very important part of the St Leonard’s community. 

The transition programme for students joining St Leonard’s starts whilst pupils are in their primary schools and runs for a 2-year period for year 5 and 6 pupils. The programme aims to provide opportunities for new pupils to become familiar with the building, staff and other pupils as well as the standards and expectations of the school. 

Working with parents and families is a very important part of this programme, we run an enhanced programme for pupils with additional needs and want to ensure that pastoral care is at the heart of our provision.
